All-purpose five-card spread spread万能牌阵
Works for any question: the surface outcome, the surroundings and their cause, the inner view and the variable
The studio’s all-purpose five-card spread fits any question. The centre shows the surface outcome; the two cards above show the surroundings and what is causing them; the two below show the inner thoughts of the person in question and the variable that could still change things. By default it uses only the 22 major arcana.
Cards are laid in one order and read in another: lay 1 centre, 2 top left, 3 top right, 4 bottom left, 5 bottom right; read surface outcome → surroundings → their cause → inner thoughts → variable.
Beginner spreads use the 22 major arcana by default; you can switch to all 78 cards.

How to read this spread

- Then the surroundings (top right) and their cause (top left)
- Then the inner thoughts (bottom right)
- Finish with the variable (bottom left): where the outcome can still change
Common questions
In what order should I read the five positions?
Start with card 1, the surface outcome, then read card 5 for inner thoughts. Work through cause, surroundings and the variable, and return to card 1 to see whether it still reads the same.
Why read the first and third cards together?
Card 1 shows how things appear; card 3 shows the surroundings it sits in. Read side by side they show whether the environment amplifies or dampens the outcome, so no single card is taken as final.
Can I ask the same question every day with this spread?
It is better not to. Repeatedly asking the same question turns the cards into an answer you feel you must verify. Return when something has changed; the spread is for clarifying, not certifying.
