Two paths spread七张二选一
Compare two defined options on equal terms
The Two Paths spread is for people who have already narrowed their choices down to two concrete options but still feel stuck. It assumes you can name option A and option B clearly. It is not designed for open-ended questions like "what should I do with my life?"
The spread puts both options on equal footing. The starting point shows your current situation and mindset, then each path is examined through its opportunity, its cost, and its likely direction. This works well for decisions with a clear fork: a job offer versus staying, moving versus remaining, continuing a relationship versus ending it.
It cannot decide for you, and it does not predict which option is "better." What it can do is lay out the trade-offs side by side, so you can see which cost you are more willing to carry. If you are still unsure what the two options even are, start with a more open spread first.
Uses all 78 cards by default.

How to read this spread
- Read the starting point first and check whether it actually describes your current situation. If that card feels off, the rest of the reading will drift.
- Read the two opportunity cards together. Compare which opportunity aligns with what you genuinely value, not which one sounds more exciting.
- Do not skip the cost cards. Both paths have costs. The question is which cost you can live with, not which path is cost-free.
- The outlook cards show tendencies, not verdicts. Treat them as "if things continue as they are, this may unfold" rather than a fixed ending.
- After all seven cards, write down one specific cost you are willing to accept, then decide what information or small action comes next.

Common questions
Can I use this spread to choose between two jobs?
Yes, if you already have two concrete offers. If you are still searching broadly, an open spread is a better first step.
What if both outlook cards look difficult?
Outlooks show tendencies, not fixed outcomes. Compare the cost cards instead, and consider whether a third option exists.
Can I use this spread to choose between two people?
It is not designed for that. Use it to compare your own two possible actions, not to rank two people.
